Watford win Landscape Competition
Last week at club night I shared a piece of news that I should share will all members. Once again it is good news.
On Monday 24th October Watford Camera Club were represented at the Ron Harvey Landscape Trophy hosted by Potters Bar. Each of 6 clubs (Southgate, Loughton, Potters Bar, Croxley Green, Welwyn Garden City and ourselves) submitted 6 landscape images. With each image marked out of 20 there was a total of 120 marks available. As a club we are not always recognised for being strong landscape photographers but we didn’t do so badly!
Micki Aston was judging and she held back 8 of the 36 images – 4 of which were Watford authors, 3 of which scored 20. It is an inter club competition and as a team we only dropped 5 marks (115 total) to win the competition comfortably from second placed Loughton by 6 marks (109). I was able to ‘hold aloft’ the impressive trophy at our club night.
Our images and scores are ALL worthy of mention so well done to:-
- Martin Patten for Manhatten Mono – 18
- Don Bennett for Vestrahorn Dawn – 18
