Watford Camera Club Retain the NW Federation Trophy

The final of the NW Fed was held on Saturday 27th February between Watford and Amersham. We are the current holders of the trophy, having not previously won for a number of years so we are most definitely on an upwards trajectory.

The judge was Caroline Colegate, ARPS APAGB. Each club submitted 10 PDIs and 10 ‘Prints’ to be scored over 2 rounds. In the first round there were 5 images held back; 2 from Watford and 3 from Amersham, of which 2 scored the maximum 20 both of which were Watford Images – Terri Adcock’s Fox Fight and Alicja O’Sullivan’s Leaf Whisperer. It was very close at the end of the first round, with Watford just edging it by 1 point; 158 against 157.

In the second round Watford stormed ahead. There were 4 images held back with Alicja again scoring a maximum 20 with Behind and Patrick Seehanach scoring 20 with Catch, giving Watford 162.5 points against Amersham’s 153. The overall total was therefore 320.5 points to Watford, 310 points to Amersham.

What is encouraging is that it was not only the ‘usual suspects’ that contributed. Across all the rounds we were represented by no fewer than 16 different authors so it was a real team effort.

Congratulations to all who took part.
